The Re-Direction Staff Training in Georgia has officially started today, October 6, 2025, at Ilia State University in Tbilisi. Bringing together project partners from across Europe, the two-day event marks another key milestone of the EU co-funded Re-Direction Project (Project No. 101128509). Participants have gathered both onsite and online to explore innovative approaches to inclusivity, digital education, and sustainable learning. The training opened with a welcoming address by Prof. Elene Zhuravliova, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in promoting inclusive higher education practices.
Throughout the morning, participants will focus on inclusivity principles and stakeholder engagement in higher education. Led by the Karls team, the agenda will include an Icebreaker Activity and an introduction to the Guide & Inclusivity Principles, followed by group work on Stakeholder Mapping. Participants will later present their findings in plenary, sharing insights on how inclusive practices can be integrated within their institutions.
After lunch, the program will shift toward digital learning and project implementation. Participants will explore eLearning on Inclusivity and attend a session on the Operational Arrangements of Piloting, co-led by Karls and Metropolitan College. The discussion will outline the upcoming piloting phase, focusing on timeframes, shared responsibilities, and the use of digital tools to foster inclusivity across partner universities.
The first day will close with a summary of key takeaways and a look ahead to the next steps in the Re-Direction Project. A partner dinner will follow in the evening, giving participants an opportunity to strengthen professional ties in an informal setting. Tomorrow’s sessions will continue with workshops on ICT skills, sustainability, and eLearning course development, further supporting the project’s mission to enhance inclusive education practices across Europe.
