As part of Re-Direction Project, an enriching workshop was held on inclusivity on May 14, 2025. This workshop is part of the process to develop an inclusivity guide for academic and administrative staff. With the support of the inclusivity expert, Ms. Lila Sax dos Santos Gomes, the project team discussed specific aspects of diversity which are most relevant for the target institutions in Georgia and Ukraine.
While working in groups, different case studies were analyzed, each focusing on another phase of the PDCA cycle (plan, do, check, act), which we will also use as an approach for the inclusivity guide. Partners identified several methods that are of interest to their institutions, such as participatory data collection, EU policies on inclusivity, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, cultural attitudes and the added value of international cooperation for fostering inclusive practices. Next, the partners agreed to further discuss the concept of intersectionality, that we are considered as relevant when planning inclusive measures. The development of the inclusivity guide is under the lead of Karlshochschule International University.
